Last week, Varley Group proudly took part in the 2025 Hunter TAFE Foundation Scholarship Awards, held at the Kurri Kurri Campus. This special event celebrated the achievements of students from across the Hunter and Central Coast regions, with scholarships sponsored by industry and government partners.
This year, Varley Group sponsored two scholarships:
The Varley TVET Scholarship – supporting female students studying trade areas such as Engineering, Electrotechnology, and Information Technology.
The Varley Encouragement Scholarship – awarded to an individual seeking to gain new skills aligned with the industry areas: automotive, engineering and manufacturing, marine engineering, plant and heavy vehicle, IT and project management.
Representing Varley Group on the day were Sophie Jones, People Advisor and Michelle Payne Group Marketing Manager, who were thrilled to present these awards.
We give a big shout out and congratulations to TAFE students Arianna Finch, winner of the Varley TVET Scholarship, and Kayla Battle, winner of the Varley Encouragement Scholarship.
Arianna is a dedicated student working towards a career as a qualified electrician. She is successfully balancing a Certificate II in Electrotechnology at TAFE alongside her Year 11 studies. Kayla is also studying Electrotechnology whilst balancing school, a traineeship, and part-time work.
Both girls were delighted to receive these scholarships and are enthusiastic about bringing their career ambitions to life
Varley Group is proud to support our local TAFE students as they pursue rewarding careers in high-demand technical fields. We extend our thanks to Jorja Collins and the Hunter TAFE Foundation for their continued work in strengthening pathways to skilled employment across the region and building the future workforce for Australia’s manufacturing and other critical industries.
