The Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) is Australia’s peak industry association. Acting on behalf of business for more than 140 years, Ai Group represents the interests of more than 60,000 businesses and more than 1 million employees.
To advance local manufacturing, engineering and technology, Varley actively participates in various Ai Group Hunter networks such as Industry Leaders Council, Employee Relations Network, Lean Manufacturing, Safety Leadership, Innovation Cluster and Skill Development collaborative groups.
Hunter Manufacturing Awards Inc (HMA) is motivated by a mission to promote best practices in manufacturing. HMA works collaboratively with key regional organisations to highlight the achievements of the region’s manufacturers and the importance of manufacturing in general.
Varley have won various Hunter Manufacturing Awards throughout the past decade.
The Hunter Business Chamber is the independent representative organisation for Australia’s largest regional business community. The organisation is an advisor, a forum, a source of information and a point of access for members. The Chamber provides a comprehensive range of services to members, including lobbying and advocacy, networking opportunities and advice on issues including workplace relations, business advice and training.
HunterNet is widely recognised within Australian manufacturing and academia as the most successful industry ‘cluster’ of its type nationally. The organisation involves over 200 companies, active in national and international infrastructure and asset management, energy and resources, defence and advanced manufacturing supply chains.
Varley participate in various HunterNet events and groups to continue the successes of the Hunter region’s manufacturing industry.
RDA Hunter is the Hunter region’s economic development organisation. With a mandate to identify and communicate regional priorities to help drive economic growth, its focus is on ensuring the region’s competitiveness for the future.
Varley participates in RDA Hunter’s STEM and workforce development initiative, the ME Program, leading to our involvement in various regional development activities.
Built on the principles of equity, excellence and engagement, the University of Newcastle (UoN) has a reputation as a world-class educational institution making an impact within its own region, throughout Australia and across the globe.
Varley Group works closely with UoN to develop career pathways for students into engineering, manufacturing and shared service professions, including participation in the Lucy Mentoring Program and Career Expos.
