On the 30th July 2025, Varley Vehicles celebrated our Orica Fleet MMU Delivery: A Milestone in Partnership with Orica.
Varley Vehicles is proud to mark the successful delivery of the Orica Fleet Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU) for long-standing partner Orica — a significant milestone in a partnership built on trust, technical excellence, and shared values.
This delivery forms part of a multi-year collaboration that has seen Varley support Orica through the engineering integration, fabrication, hydraulic system and manufacturing of MMUs purpose-built to safely and reliably operate in some of the world’s most demanding environments.
Each unit represents the combined efforts of more than +60 skilled Varley Vehicles tradespeople and specialists — from boilermakers and fitters to auto electricians, hydraulic technicians, project engineers, supply chain and project management teams. Our capable team worked together to deliver advanced vehicle solutions that met our client’s quality expectations, adhering to stringent operational and safety standards.
The 4 year project was led by Varley Vehicles Project Manager Greg Cotterill, with strategic oversight from CEO Jeff Honniball, who reflected on the broader significance of the work.
“Orica’s latest fleet of MMUs was manufactured at our Tomago facility by our highly skilled team. All of us here at Varley are very proud to contribute our engineering and manufacturing expertise to support Orica’s operations.
It’s partnerships like this that showcase what’s possible when Australian manufacturing and long-term collaboration come together” – Jeff Honniball.
Varley’s partnership with Orica not only helps strengthen Australia’s manufacturing base but also supports ongoing employment and skills development across the Hunter Region.
We thank Orica for their continued partnership and look forward to supporting their operations with fit-for-purpose specialised vehicles and ongoing engineering excellence.
