Varley Group is proud to announce a new strategic partnership with OKA Australia to scale production of their Gen-5 all-terrain vehicle – a rugged Australian design trusted in defence, mining and emergency services for nearly four decades.
This partnership brings together two great Australian engineering legacies:
- OKA Australia’s 39-year reputation for rugged and reliable all-terrain vehicles, trusted in defence, mining and emergency services. Many of the original OKAs built in the 1990s are still in service today, which is a true testament to their durability.
- Varley Group’s 139 years of expertise in engineering, manufacturing and through-life support, backed by a highly skilled workforce of more than 1,200 people and a national network of facilities.
- Varley Vehicles’ 60+ years of experience in designing and manufacturing customised, high-specification vehicle solutions for industry-leading clients and government.
By combining these strengths, OKA Australia can move beyond its small-scale facility and into a nationally resourced, commercially scalable production model – designed, built and delivered in Australia. This will enable OKA Australia to meet growing demand of their Gen-5 vehicle both domestically and globally, resulting in shorter lead times, expanded capacity, and vehicles equipped straight off the line for firefighting, flood protection, defence, humanitarian aid, mining, utilities and emergency response.
Our Managing Director, Jeff Phillips, noted:
“OKA Australia has built a strong reputation for rugged and reliable all-terrain vehicles, and together we can combine their innovative platform with Varley’s manufacturing expertise. This strategic partnership reflects the precision, commitment and sovereign engineering expertise behind every Varley vehicle we deliver, and reinforces our ambition to continue setting the benchmark for excellence in Australian manufacturing.”
OKA Australia has welcomed the partnership, with Executive Chairman Oliver Barnes, stating:
“We are delighted to be working with Varley Group at this pivotal stage in our journey. This agreement marks the next step in moving OKA Australia to commercial-scale production at a time when global demand for our vehicles is accelerating. By combining OKA’s proven product advantages with Varley’s deep Australian manufacturing expertise, we are not only scaling production but also creating a pathway to reignite Australia’s sovereign automotive capability. This partnership unlocks OKA’s full potential as Australia’s only remaining vehicle marque and provides the scale, resources and capability to operate with global relevance.”
This partnership underscores a shared commitment to Australian innovation, capability and global competitiveness.
