Heart 5 CT Health Trailers, manufactured right here in Australia at Varley Brisbane.
The Varley Vehicles team was proud to see HEART 5, the world’s first battery-powered mobile CT scanner, demonstrated at the 10th Australian Lung Cancer Conference in Adelaide.
Built in Australia at our Brisbane facility, HEART 5 is designed to deliver life-saving lung screening services to remote communities—ensuring better access to critical diagnostics where they’re needed most.
With five more HEART 5 CT health trailers to be manufactured at Varley Vehicles, each taking 12 months to build, this growing fleet will aim to reach up to 70 remote communities every year—helping to detect lung cancer earlier and save lives.
These new incredible mobile health clinics will be rolling out testing for the nation’s deadliest form of cancer, offering lung cancer screening to communities that are often without crucial medical services.
Ewan Wylie, Head of Operations & Business Development at Heart of Australia, shared his thought,
“What this allows us to do is turn up to a community with no pre-infrastructure built for us, park in a park, and start doing CT scans.”
Stephen Moss, General Manager of Varley Vehicles (QLD), commented:
“We are proud to continue our partnership with Heart of Australia in delivering these cutting-edge mobile CT health solutions. The impact of these trucks will be felt across the country, ensuring more Australians have access to crucial medical care—no matter where they live.”
A huge thank you to Heart of Australia, the Lung Foundation Australia, and all partners involved in this vital initiative. We look forward to seeing this first build of the new fleet on the road, and making a difference in the communities that need it most.
